Outlook says "Need admin approval"

Your organization's Microsoft 365 requires an IT admin to approve apps before employees can connect them. Here's exactly what to send your admin — one approval unlocks Outlook for your whole company.

If you clicked Connect on Outlook and Microsoft showed a "Need admin approval" screen instead of the usual permission prompt, nothing is broken — your organization's Microsoft 365 settings require an IT admin to approve new apps before anyone in the company can use them. This is common at companies, schools, and other managed organizations.

One approval unlocks Your Day Schedule for your whole organization — after that, you (and any colleague) can connect Outlook normally.

Why this happens

Many organizations turn off "user consent" in Microsoft 365. That means employees can't grant any third-party app access to company data themselves — an admin has to sign off once, org-wide. Whether you see this screen depends entirely on your company's settings, not on anything you did.

What your admin needs to do

Send this page to your IT admin. Either path takes under a minute:

Option 1 — approve from the screen you saw

  1. On the "Need admin approval" screen, click "Have an admin account? Sign in with that account."
  2. Sign in with the admin account.
  3. On the permission prompt, tick "Consent on behalf of your organization", then Accept.

Option 2 — approve from the Microsoft Entra admin center

  1. Go to Microsoft Entra admin center → Identity → Applications → Enterprise applications.
  2. If a user already attempted to connect, Your Day Schedule appears in the list — open it, choose Permissions, and click Grant admin consent.

After approval, come back to Settings → Integrations and click Connect on the Outlook card again — it will go straight through.

What your admin is approving

Your Day Schedule is a Microsoft verified publisher (EDUBOOKINGS.COM LLC — the blue check on the approval screen). The app requests only:

No mailbox reading, no files, no directory access, no admin-level permissions.
